Being a Bengali comes with a lot of typicality. One of it is love for traveling. Love for the roads is very strong in us. Be it an overnight journey to a nearby sea beach or some hill station within the country or some exotic location abroad, we become happy with the very mention of a holiday and I Shamik Sen is no exception to the rule!
The trip to Denmark was the one that both my wife and I have been planning for a long time. The golden opportunity came to us when my in-laws gifted us this holiday package on our 10th anniversary. It was a perfect week-long trip my father-in-law had planned. Our joy knew no limits! Our son was also excited to set foot on a foreign country for the first time in his life.
We used the travel app on the mobile to book the tickets and the hotel. The best travel app helped out with a smooth and seamless interface. We could browse through the various options and zeroed in on the best deals that we got for the flight as well as the hotel. Our smart travel app came handy in checking the PNR status and continuous updating of the status and other information about the flight.
The first leg of our travel itinerary involved us leaving Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport, Kolkata to Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok. Thereafter we boarded the Thai Airways carrier to take us from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Copenhagen Airport, Denmark.
When it comes to packing for a holiday in a Bengali household, it is another sight to be enjoyed; specially, if you are going to some hill station. Though this is middle of the year with the winters a long long away, but who will explain this to my Bengali parents. Out came the long fur coats for me and my wife; and a whole lot of woolen shopped for my son.
On a bright August morning we set sail for our first foreign trip. So here I go with wife and son in tow… off to the wonderland for a dream holiday that we always longed for. Denmark… here we come!
